Our Weekend in Pictures

Hey guys, It's been a while!
Over Memorial Day weekend, us and some friends headed down to San Rafael Swell in Utah to go climbing. I had never been down there so it was fun to experience a new & breathtaking place that is only a couple of hours away from where we live!

We made the not-so-kid-friendly, treacherous hike up to the towers that the guys wanted to climb. Ellie was a trooper, and so was Ryan for carrying her a lot of the way. ;) #bestdaddyaward

Ry-Guy making his way up to the first tower! This was his first experience crack climbing outdoors, and I think he got hooked on it.

Ellie insisted to wear her "super girl" outfit. (cape included)
Here she is with her magnifying glass checking out some rocks. haha she kills me.

This is what most of our climbing trips look like. The spots usually consist of a not-so-great hang out spot for the belayers/kids/people hanging out. But we make do with what we have.  Check out that view!! Wowza, we live in a beautiful place.

Ryan and our friend Steven making their way up to the tower. So rad!

They made it! Now for the fun part... coming down.

After the first tower, we headed around the corner to another climbing spot.  Crack climbing is a whole new ball game. and Ryan has the cuts and scrapes on his arms to prove it. ;)   Here he is killing it! Woo

Ellie was seriously so great this whole trip! She loved exploring and being outside. Everywhere we went, we set up a little hang out spot for her with treats, books, etc. and she had fun "making up songs about rock climbing and being grateful for Jesus." (In her own words.)
She totally passed out at one of her hang out spots and I had to snap a picture. She is such a cutie!!

We all headed to our 3rd spot, a tower called The Lightbulb.
The guys climbed it successfully!

Ellie had a blast making her own "rock snowmen" (cairns) So cute.

These two....

After the Swell, we headed to The Wedge, which is like a mini Grand Canyon.
We set up camp there for the night.

Little Diva Ellie

Rapunzel made several appearances on our trip. ;)

I love this picture of Ellie. She is the funniest, sweetest, spunkiest, craziest girl- We are so lucky that she is ours.

Until next time!!
Hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend.

Someone Graduated!!

The time has finally come for my amazing husband to GRADUATE!! (He graduated in December, but is now finally walking)

My babe is a rock star. He seriously does it ALL! Not only is he an incredible father, friend, husband, rock climber, cuddle buddy, shower singer, outdoors enthusiast, co-worker, and support system... he is also the hardest working person that I know-- All while having a balanced lifestyle. That is such a rare trait to have! One that I aspire to have. He knows how to have fun and work hard all at the right times. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful example and best friend in my life, who continues to support me in countless ways.

Ryan graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing.
He had so many incredible accomplishments this last year!
Here are some just to name a few....

  • He was President of the UVU AMA club (American Marketing Association) which won Club of the Year
  • He graduated in the Top 10% of his class
  • He took 1st place in a National Marketing competition in New Orleans
  • He won the award for Best Overall Marketing Student
  • He won the Outstanding Student Award for the Department of Marketing
  • Won 1st place for the Best Looking male in the Marketing Department

(Ok, if that last one was a real award, he would have won that too)

WOWZA!! I am so beyond proud of all of his hard work in school.

Here he is accepting his "Outstanding Student Award" from the Dean of the Business School.

His graduation ceremony!!

What a good looking graduate.....

His name was in the program for one of the awards that he received!    (Ryan Cope)

With the Dean of the Business School

Supported by his two amazing parents! What great examples they are.

Ellie is so proud of her Daddy!!!!

I love my family!
-Ellie wanted to showcase Ryan's Magna Cum Laude medal for the picture.  haha

My amazing dad and sister-in-law Jana were able to come support Ryan!
So grateful for them.

These two have my heart!

Now for the good stuff..... glamour shots.   bahahhaha I was DYING when we were taking these. Did I mention that another one my husband's many traits is that he is the most hilarious person I know?!?!

Ellie wanted to get in on this action and show the camera Ryan's graduation card. Lol.

I feel so blessed for such a hard working husband! I am thrilled to see what the future has in store for us..... maybe an International MBA school?...

April Sayings

April went by way too fast! Ellie hit her 4 1/2 year old mark on the 26th. She is spunky and saucy as ever! We love her unpredictability... unbelievably sweet one moment, then super sassy the next.  She definitely keeps us on our toes!
Ellie is currently loving riding her bike outside to the park, rock climbing "to the top of the ABC wall",  she loves to snuggle, she LOVES Daddy Daughter Dates, and to our dismay- she loves Katy Perry.    ;)
Here are some Ellie quotes from the month of April.

We had just taken off in an airplane and reached the clouds and Ellie started panicking, looking out the window and said, "But where is our land?!?! Where is our WORLD???!!"

In Cabo, we were all on the beach as the sun was setting, and we were all in a deep conversation about life and goals. There was a brief moment of silence, in which was broken by Ellie shaking her head and moaning, "AHHHH I'm not loving this....."

"Mom, Let's go on a VENTURE!!"  (Adventure)

Ryan had left for a 4 day mountaineering trip and I asked Ellie, "Do you miss daddy??" And she got a frown on her face and said, "Yeah.... I miss daddy... He gives me everything.... And he has the mail key,  so we can't get the mail...."

Ellie peeked inside the mail box and asked, "Is this where the mail man lives?"

Me: "Ellie, guess where we are going to dinner tonight?"
Ellie: "Oh PLEASE say Costco!!!"

We found out that my nephew was going to have a clown at his birthday party. Ellie asked me, "Momma, does the clown have bones? or stuffing?" (she was wondering if the clown was going to be real or not) and I told her he was going to have bones. And she said, "I am gonna squuuuueeeze his bones!"

I was climbing a long route at the rock climbing gym, and I had a big fall. Ellie was sitting down on the bench and instantly yelled up to me with an expression that showed that she was worried that I might feel self conscious or something.."It's OK mommy!!! Just do your best!! You can do it!! You won't fall, I promise!!!"

After eating at a Mexican restaurant, Ellie said to us, "I need to go potty! I need to poop out that salt and pepper."

"If we aren't nice to people, then that makes the Easter Bunny, and Jesus, and Santa sad!!!"

One Sunday morning while we were eating breakfast:
Me: "Ellie, did you know that I am grateful for you? What are you grateful for ?"
Ellie: "I am grateful for Mommy, daddy, Dadda, and Chelsea"
Me: "Awesome! What else are you grateful for?"
Ellie: "I don't know"
Me: "Are you grateful for a...warm house to live in?"
Ellie: "Yes."
Me: "Are you grateful for.. a healthy body?"
Ellie: "Yes."
Me: "What else are you grateful for?"
Ellie stormed off and yelled, "I AM DONE GRATEFULING!!!"

We were in the car and Ellie was grumpy and yelled, "I JUST WANT TO BE A GROWN-UP!!!" and I asked her why she wanted to be a grown-up so bad. She said, "I just want to use grown-up scissors!!! And I just want to drink Sprite!!! and I just want to drink hot cocoa without having to blow on it!!!!"
