How do you get toddlers to eat their fruits & veggies?

...Put it in popsicle form, of course!

Have you guys heard of Zipzicles?

They are shaped like otter pops, but have a ziplock on the top- therefore, being fillable and refillable. Genius! Oh, and they have tons of recipes on their website for more kinds of homemade popsicles.
Ellie loooves otter pops and popsicles, but they are just so sugary. My co-worker Sharon bought some of these for me to try out and they are awesome! I make healthy smoothies and fill these up and freeze 'em. Ellie doesn't know that they are actually healthy for her...let alone have SPINACH in them :)



What I put in my smoothies:

-water
-some frozen fruit (I buy the bags at Target or Costco) or you can do fresh fruit:
-1 peach
-1 nectarine
-1 apple
-1 pear
-1 banana
-1 mango
-some blueberries
(really, any fruit that you want)
-3 tablespoons of Chia Seeds (get them at Costco or your closest Whole Foods store)
-some peach or mango flavored greek yogurt
-and a whopping handful of spinach
-and some Kale if you want

and blend it up!
 You may need to add ice to make it thicker. (but keep in mind that you are just going to freeze them anyways)


Then use a funnel to put the smoothie into the Zipzicle

seal it up

freeze 'em

YUM!   Toddler approved.  (enter thumbs up emoticon here)

Also, it is fun to have your toddler help you make these for a sweet project! 
Just beware of the freezing process seeming like an eternity to them ;) Ellie kept asking every 30 seconds or so if they were frozen yet and ready to eat. haha
