The cookie that changed my life..

A little dramatic on the title? Not one bit....

Sharon, (whom I refer to as one of Ryan's "second moms"),  made these cookies last week that she found on Pinterest, and I must say--- DEFINITELY one of the BEST cookies I have ever had! The perfect combo of Nutella, chocolate chips, browned butter for that nutty taste, and sprinkled sea salt to balance it. SO YUMMY!! You guys HAVE to try this out...

Check out the recipe HERE You can thank me later.

Nutella-Stuffed Brown Butter
+ Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies
(that's a mouthful! Literally.)

My New Obsession- Kilim rugs

I have seen these types of rugs in pictures all over, and have fallen in love with the style! I think it can add an eclectic feel when paired with mismatched chairs, or a fun sofa, and lots of framed art. I love the american indian/tribal feel to it, as well as a hint of boho chic. In our new home, we have a dining table with mismatched chairs that I think a Kilim rug would look great under!

These pictures have been my inspiration for this decor idea of mine. Tell me what you think!:

SWOONING over this entire dining room...

This colorful beauty is from Anthropologie via

So I have looked everywhere for a rug that I like.. I have found some that are too expensive for me. I am picky with the color though, because I am not a huge fan of red. I am really picky with red turkish rugs. It has to be just right ;) But since I have some light pink chairs, I wanted something more colorful. I found these two beauties. Which one do you like the best out of the two??

Meet Jenn.

Jenn Blosil sang some songs last night at our friend's house, and she absolutely blew me away.
Her style reminds me of Adele.

She is trying to raise money to get her career started-
check out the video, and pledge some money HERE !

My Weekend in Pictures

We are officially Home Owners!

Saturday was mine and Ryan's 6 month anniversary.
What a perfect day to move into our first place :)
It is a weird feeling owning a home...I feel so old and responsible.
The townhome is perfect for us-- 3 bedrooms, so there is room to grow!
Now if we could just find time to settle in and get organized.....

My weekend in pictures

For Labor Day weekend, the whole Duncan fam damily piled into a rented 15 passenger van, and headed for Jackson Hole, Wyoming! It was fun all being together for the long drive.

Wrapped dollar store toys kept the little ones entertained...We made "aquariums" and filled the water bottle full of plastic animals. We also put these other little animals that were supposed to expand over time in water, in with the plastic animals, but soon they turned into squishy colorful stuff--
Oh well, I guess it looked cool? ha You get what you pay for... :)
The kids loved it, that's all that mattered!

Cody and Ellie are always so darn cute together! I think hand holding turned into hand squeezing.... ha poor Cody.

Baby Phoebe stole my heart on this trip...giving everyone the biggest smiles, and being so gosh darn cute in her cupcake beanie. I love this little bee!

Da bears.

Watching the shootout show..Ellie didn't know what to think about all the gun shots...

Sunday, we drove to Yellowstone National Park to watch Old Faithful in action! Ellie kept calling it "the Gooey Geiser" from Dora.  :)

 We saw lots of bison!

smothered with kisses....

I love my family!

The coolest part of the trip was when we saw 4 grizzly bears walking in a row!

There is something romantic, yet simple about your husband picking a wild flower and placing it behind your ear... :)

The scenery was BEAUTIFUL!

Coolest shot of the trip..by my brother and sister-in-law.
The sun setting behind this peak, shining it's rays in each direction.

Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend!
